I saw this article:

I have a Sony Vaio notebook - GRV550. One of the keys now takes some effort to press before the signal registers and I want to clean only that key. How do I pry it off, exactly? Do I pry it off perpendicular to the kayboard surface? Last time I tried to poke it off by the side it bent at weird angles and I was afraid something might snap. So please provide details. I only need to clean this *one* key.

Thank you.

I think Sabertooth means Read The Manual. I guess it's possible that Sony might have a manual on their web site that would cover that.
But anyway, on every keyboard that I have seen, the keys pull straight out. I have a special tool that I use. It's somewhat like tweezers, with hooks on the bottom that grab the key on both sides. Unfortunately I can't tell you where to get one at this time.

Hi

Yes it sounds like the clip has come off and is in a different position to what it ought to be. Sometimes the keys take quite some force to remove.

You will probably be better off with a tool that will grab all four sides of the key. Purchase a ic chip insert/removal tool, at your local electronics store.

I kept pulling and it would not come off so I stopped and now the key works better somehow. :)

Thanks.
