Normally, the problem is to uninstall Windows and have everything work, but this time it's the contrairy. Just uninstall everything using Windows and delete everything else than windows that cannot be uninstalled.

To uninstall everything:
-Double-click on My computer on your desktop.
-D-Clk on Control Panels.
-D-Clk on Add or remove programs. There should be a list of everything installed on you computer using Windows XP.
-Uninstall everything that seems you unecessairy, or that you don't want anymore.
-If you have files in the folders where these programs where installed, these files will be generally saved, so if you want them, or want to delete them, you'll have to seek for them.
-Don't uninstall any Internet Explorer component.

Hi RJ,

I'm not sure what probs your unit is giving you, but you might consider a total fdisk and reinstall of XP. Just back up your data off-computer, and make sure that you have all the install disks for your programs, and make sure you have a separate XP installation system disk. Even if you have only a recovery disk, that's okay and will work.
The reason for this is that it cleans your register out of old entries and restores everything back to normal if you have a lot of corrupted system files.

Just make sure the probs you have aren't mechanical in nature (such as a device that is failing or CPU overheating) because re-installation of the OS won't help that.
