|I've done 3 chkdsk in a row on my wife's PC. Each time it finds a bunch of orphaned files and hangs at 12% when verifying file data. It desn't really hang but takes a long time to complete. I start the chkdsk process by going to C:\ properties on Window's Explorer. After clicking Tools and error checking, I check both boxes (Fix file system error & recovery of bad sectors).|
Since I keep getting basically the same errors each time I run chkdsk, should I take this to mean there is a hardware issue? Is there another utility I can run to do a more aggressive repair? The PC will boot normally but occasionally fails to wake up after going into standby mode. When this happens, it will automatically run the chkdsk.
