i have an i series ibm laptop which i gave for a hinge-repair to a local vendor.i however suspect that he might have changed some of the original parts of the motherboard with the fake ones.is there any way of checking it out?

The motherboard is one piece. I don't see how it would make sence to substitute parts of it. The labour costs are too high.
Why do you think that you've been ripped off?

You can't really change parts of the motherboard. The RAM, HD and possibly the cpu could of been swapped. The easyest way to check would be to compare system information (in start, accessorys, system tools) to the original spec of the laptop.
Summary: Does anyone know of a site or catalog that i can purchase replacement laptop parts from? Example: plastic cases, chassie parts, etc. thank you. ...
