Helo guyz.. I just bought a Chassis fan with 3 pin jst to fit the slot in chassis fan connector in the mobo. It worked well..but when i open my bios in system hardware monitor.. i found no result of rotation or fan speed in "chassis fan speed", it state 0 rpm. what went wrong...my fan is 12v and 19amperes. i just want to see how fast my new fan rotates per minute. My Board is Asrock P4I45GV. any advice or recommenations? Is my mobo not working properly or jst my BIOS? tnx guyz.

My guess is that the fan cable does not have all the necessary wires. Only two wires are needed from the fan to the motherboard to operate (power and a ground). A third wire is required to monitor the fan speed. The third wire might have been left off as a cost cutting method or, if present, might have a break in it.
