Hi veryone,

I currently have Rogers High-Speed Internet and the modem that they lent to me is Toshiba PCX2500. If I buy a different cable modem with different model, will it work? Do I have configure the modem or let Rogers knows? By the way, what is a good cable modem for Rogers services? Thank you very much

Just plugging it up it will not work.

You will have to first contact the ISP and see if they will support it. Than you will have to have the ISP change the mac address on their side to match the mac address on your new modem.

Most ISP's will say no way, you may get lucky, personally I wouldn't like using a toshiba modem either, rather have a websurfer, or motorola myself.

Don't know where you hail from Outlander, but out of three high-speed ISPs in two different states in the US I have been able to use my own cable modems in each of them.
