i just found a system in the trash down the street. i know the guy and he is very computer illiterate so i figured maybe it is something easily fixed. Bring it home and turn it on. it beeps at me. long-long-long...
i assume this is a BIOS beep code saying some sort of issue. take out the memory sticks and turn it on w/o memory to see if it issues the same code. it does. i assume memory issue. i dig through my box of memory and come up with a 128mb PC133 stick to try, and pop it in. Nothing. Not even a beep code but no monitor or keyboard activity. i remove all accessorie cards except video, (network, sound, modem) then try it still nothing. I thought i would google search and see what i can find on the mobo. it is in a custom case so cannot serach system model #. a search of motherboard model brings up a few vauge references, but nothing helpful. One mentioned it being a Chaintech mobo. can anyone shed some light on this?

the mobo says:
AGP 6LTM2 M101

BIOS chip is Windbond but that doesn't say what BIOS is programmed into it. can anyone shed some light on this? thanx.

btw, i put the other memory chips, which turned out to be 32mb sticks, in a differant system and thye worked fine.

thanx for any help.
