i have a celeron D 2.26ghz 478 processor can i replace it with p4 1.6ghz. which one is better in speed?

When it comes to replacing the CPU what will determine if you can replace the CPU is the motherboard. Your motherboard can only take CPU's it was built for so you can't just put in any CPU.
