A Celeron IS a Pentium 1.8 GHz. The difference is that it is a cut-down version of the full-blown Pent. 1.8GHz merely designates the processor clockspeed. Among others, the Celeron has a smaller L2 cache, and is slower that a standard 1.8GHz, but is also $ cheaper.

Hi

The Celeron can not be compared to a Pentium processor.

It is not even in the same stable let alone comparison against the Pentium.

The celeron is more sommonly refered to by some as the Intel Pentium reject that doesnt meet specification.

Depending on configuration the Pentium P3 is better than the latest celeron chips even though the p3 only had a FSB of 133.

Some of the older P3 can still be found, and are jst as expensive to buy as the P4.

Janos: ...like I said and you agreed, the Celeron is a Pentium. Pentium referres to the chip engineering itself.
