My girlfriends dad has asked me to try and find out why his CD writer is not
working anymore. In an attempt to get in with the birds folks without having
to go to another family barbecue, I happily agreed. He's got an Artec wrr4848 in an old 266MHz, 64MB with win98.
His story goes that the cd writer has been working for months then when he
went to use it after not touching the computer for a few weeks the computer
just crashed and the cd writers not worked since. I had a look at it and it
is still reading CDs and appears in the hardware list to be ok. However,
when you start nero, nero syas there's no writing drive attached...same
story with click 'n burn. I then tried it in my pc(Win XP) and it worked fine!!!I'm completely stumped. Since theres no drivers with it, I can't try
reinstalling anything. I assume the cable is ok since it can still read ok.Does anyone have any suggestions for things I can try?
Cheers,
Andy

I'd say try re-installing Nero again, and if that doesn't work see if you can try your burner (if you have one)in his computer. And if that doesn't work, you may need to format and restart over. I've had a similar problem before with my old Sony Burner, it was Nero so i just un-installed and re-installed.
I hope this works out for you.
Daniel
