CDRW-Drive goes mad...help.

Hi people, While I was on the net, my CDRW drive started opening and closing without stopping. I restarted the system, I shut it down for a while, it does not make any difference. As soon as the system starts working the mad drive starts again; open-close-open-close... HELP... What's wrong? Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks a lot. A. Picachu

run these: HiJack This SpyBot AdAware They are VERY proactive. Be careful what you delete. You could crash your system. If it finds executables, check add/remove programs to see if you can remove them that way first.
Summary: Is the CDRW drive on the master or slave ribbon? Also do you have the jumpers set correctly on the drive? Try swapping the drive with another and see if the same problem occours " Please Post back ...
