CDRW thinks its a cd rom

Hi my CDRW thinks that its a cd rom drive any ideas? my computer originaly came with windows xp and worked thenbut shouldent all cd rws work with almost all os?

Actually the cdrw is a cd rom, at least until it becomes controlled by a program like Ahead Nero and gets put into write mode.

IT says its burning the cd but when its done the cd hasent been touched ( tried 4 cds)

maybe your acidently making ISO's.... I've done it... check your destination drive make sure that it says your brand of burner and it's speeds...
