CD-RW install gone bad

Last night, I installed a new CD-RW drive. When I turned on the computer, I got a Primary Master disk fail (or something like that). So I went into Setup. Since I know NOTHING about this CMOS etc. stuff, I naturally fooled around with some of the settings trying to set the CD-ROM to slave as the instructions stated. However, now when I boot up, I get "Disk Boot failure. Insert system boot disk and press enter". It also says "none" next to Primary Master in the CMOS listing. HELP... What did I do?

first, take out the CD-RW and boot, and see if everything is working correctly, then, if everything is fine, re-install the cd-rw drive, but make sure the jumpers are set correctly, i also recommend putting the CD-RW on a different IDE channel than the hard drive
