Hello, I need some help please. I have a Compaq Presario 1214SR series laptop thats about 3 years old. A week ago my CD/RW drive started causing my computer to crash. When I insert a CD (i've tried many different types) my system crashes and reboots automatically. This always happens but it happens at different times. Sometimes the CD will play or load fine, then soon after it will crash. I have tore up this forum looking for a solution and can't seem to find any that works. I have kindof given up and decided to get a new CD/RW drive. Is there anyone that has a solution for me?? How can I test the CD/RW? Or is it likely to be a conflict issue?? I really could use some help. I am a distance education student and take my college classes over the net, my laptop is my link to school.
Thanks a bunch
Kevin
