I've had this problem for some time now and hopefully someone knows the answer.
I have a cyberdrive cdrw and a benq dvdrw rom installed.
When I insert a disc it won't read in any one of them. If I restart the computer with the disc in and then go to explore the disc, it will show all of the info.
If I change out the disc and put a different one in it will not refresh the info. I would have to restart the computer to see the new info.
If I insert a blank disc to burn with nero I have no problems burning to the disc.
If I insert a disc the rom spins up like it's going to read it and display the info but it dosen't.
Has anyone resolved this sort of problem before? Thanks.

Check if cdrw drive is Slave on first IDE port and DVDRW drive Master on second IDE port.Notice if you get a better reading after making the switch.Good luck.
