i recently purchased the lite on 52x cd-rw and 16x dvd ROM drives online. I've used this brand of products in other computers and have never had problems with them so i was very surprised that ,when building my new system, when i powered it on, i heard a little buzz then clik and when i went to bios i noticed the dvd-rom wasn't being recognised. i thought it was the cable configuration so i tried to run it as the master without the cd-rw, this is when i noticed it wasn't even powering on. I then took it out and tried the cd-rw single master i used the same power supply molex that the dvd-rom was using. I heard the exact same thing a little buzz like the cd-rw was working hard and the green light on the bezel was not blinking, it was on solidly, then the light went off and i heard a click. After this, the cd-rw was the same as the dvd-rom it would not spin up or turn on, no matter what power supply molex im using, basically its dead. i then used an old 4x cd-rom drive to confirm my suspicions that it was this one molex on the power supply that was surging or underpowering my lite on drives... and another one bites the dust, same thing as last time. All the other power supply molex's work fine none of the other components are corrupted or have failed except ones used on that connector.
Is there ANY way to revive these drives from their current state. Is there a fuse i can switch or a capacitor i can replace. These drives are OEM and were purchased over a month a ago so i don't think there are any relevant warranties i can call on. So im willing to open it up break seals solder whatever it takes.Thanx for your help.

What's kind of PSU do you have? I mean how strong is it. Are you over use the power? You are making me nervous because I just bought an Lite-on 4X DVD+RW 2 day ago.

It is a cheap TurboLink 350 watt power supply. I may have overloaded it im not sure. But this is all i have in it.
Athlon XP 2200+
Biostar m7vit-pro mobo
512 MB pc2700 Kingston ValueRAM
Radeon 7500 64MB
80 GB Hard Drive
PCI WinModem
and the now departed cd-rw and dvd :(After the cd and dvd drive fiasco i hooked up the rest of the computer 4 fans and a dual cold cathode UV light and 1 OTHER cd-rw to the remaing 'GOOD' molex connectors and it works fine. It posted a 8675 in AquaMark 3 and completed a burn-in with sisoft sandra and no errors in prime 95 torture test.
