Is it true that there isn't an audio cd player that can read cdrw 12x discs ? I mean is there a difference if I have 12x cdrw disc which I burn at 12x and 32x cdrw disc which I burn again at 12x ?

Some (perhaps all) HI-FI systems have problems reading CDRW disc's. I believe the laser light is not bright enough for the audio player to follow the track on the disc.

I can play a CDRW on my HI-FI, but if I try to skip a track, or go directly to any song that is not first on the disc, the laser appears to skid backwards and forwards over the disc in an attempt to read it.

I have been told that this can damage an audio player if the laser emitting head 'over runs' it's normal path. May be just as 'Over Burning' can.

If some of the above is not quite right, someone can correct me (I don't mind).

I have a DVD player that will read Cd-RW providing they were recorded using ISO 9660 format. If the were recorded by dragging and dropping (packet writing) then most DVDs (if not all) will have problems.

If you have problems with CD-RW disk then try burning at a slower speed.
