My CD-ROM drive won't read cd's and my floppy drive won't read disks. I have had a couple problems before: My harddrive for some odd reason was vibrating, A LOT! It was shaking my whole desk to the point where I thought it was gonna do damage to my system, so I tinkered with it for a while, changing power cables and such around, until....it stopped... (which I'm still not sure if I fixed it or it just stopped on it's own). So, now my harddrive works fine, but now my CD-ROM drive and floppy don't work. It says "Please insert disk in drive D:/A:" I'm wondering if maybe it's power problems, or software or if I just have a bad cdrom/floppy, which would really light my candle, because if memory serves I paid a pretty penny for my cd-drive a while ago. I bought the CDDrive from Staples, and for some odd reason, I can't seem to find the maker's logo or name anywhere on teh drive itself or on the floppy disk with the drivers, it just says "CD-ROM Device Driver Ver:3.2" There's no hope of finding out who made the floppy drive either, a friend gave it to me, it's sooo old that if it's really broken it deserves to have died after such a long life. I just want to know if anyone has had similar problems and what the vibrating was about and why my cdrom doesn't work. Also, if anyone wanted to do a little extra work, can you tell me the most effecient way to position your chasis fans to make it more cool inside the case? I have one fan on the bottom of my case sucking air up, and one fan on the back of my case pushing air out. Is this right?
