My CD-ROM hasn't been working right lately. If I put a CD in it that should autorun, it won't do it anymore. If I open the CD directory up in Run, sometimes it freezes. Sometimes it will read the CD, but mostly it won't. It hasn't been right since I got back from a 2 week vacation.
I have 2 CD rom drives, a regular and 1 for burning CDs. Neither of them work right. I know I don't have any viruses because I scanned, so it's not that.
Also, I already tried reinstalling the drives for each of them but still nothing.
I got the computer not long ago, it's only about 3 months old, so the drives can't be bad yet.
If anyone knows what's wrong, please tell me. Thanks

My main one is a HL-DT-ST cd-rom GCR-8483B and the burner is a samsung cd-r/rw sw-252s. I know the burner burns at 48x speed, and I'm not sure about the regular one.
Both of them came with the dell dimension 2400

Dude, you have a Dell! Their support is supposed to be excellent, why are you asking your question(s) here?
