cd-rom tray won't work

i accidentally knocked the cd-rom tray out of place, and now it won't open. how can i put it back in place? thanks

If I was in your position, I would remove the cd drive from the pc and carefully dismantle to see if it is possible to refit the tray.

Though the fact it has come out rather suggest something may have broken, such as plastic retaining tags. Look out for them.
