I have been having problems with my LITE CD-ROM LTN526S 52x for some time now. Every once in a while when I put a cd in the drive, I get the message "Please insert a cd in the drive" or if I use the shortcut to my cd-rom on the desktop I get "shortcut does not exist or has moved" message. If the cd-rom is working and reading the cd without any problem then when I go to take the cd out, the tray opens while cd is still rotating. My cd-burner has not given me any problems so far. I have the latest drivers. This is how things are set on my computer:
Pri master Atapi CDROM Pri slave IDE Hard drive sec master Not detected sec slave Atapi CDROM
pri master YS0J LTN526S (cd-rom) pri slave TS0W Liteon LTR 16101B (cd-burner)
Thanks to anyone able to offer me some help with this.

I don't know if it will solve your problem but I would recommend that the harddrive with your OS be the master on the primary IDE channel. Make the Burner the master on the secondary IDE channel.
