My CD/DVD drive isn't listed in the "My Computer" folder & none of my programs can identify that its there.
Under device manager, it's listed with a yellow "!" next to it.
When I start my computer each time, the same message pops up:
"Runtime Error!
Program: C:/Program Files/DISC/DISCover.exeThis application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."This drive was originally installed in this computer when I bought it. It worked fine for the first month or so and then one day it stopped working.

If you have not touched the required power connector to it or the data cable or the jumpers on the drive, and you have not added a drive to the same data cable, check in your bios Setup to see if the drive is recognized.
When the computer is on, the drive cd tray should open or close when you press on the button on the front of it.Insert a CD, note it's position before you close the tray. The led should come on briefly a couple times and you should be able to hear it spinning a faster speed at first. If the led stays on a long time and you hear no spinning the drive is probably no good. Eject the CD - if it is in the same position the drive motor's bearings are siezed and the motor cannot turn.

If you DO want to use it, you may be able the repair the installation at the same place.
