Hey I was thinking about getting a new CD rom cause mine is crapping out. I want to get one of those new ones with no door that you just slide the cd in, there kinda like the ones in cars. Does anyone know the name of them or can link me thanks :)

Qwoody:
The common name for that type is "Slot drives". Pioneer has a DVD Slot Drive (also plays CDs) DVD120S available from Newegg for $41:

That is the only one I can easily find. Although, I have one of these type drives (DVD-106S) I have aways been a little cautious about using it.
My concern is this. There is a slotted rubber gasket covering the opening to prevent dust from getting into the drive. I suspect if a piece of dirt, sand, or some other hard, granular substance got stuck to the lower "lip" of the gasket, that it might scratch the surface of the CD/DVD as it is inserted, or ejected.
