Message: i have a cd/dvd/rw drive that is reconized in my computer and open and closes fine but all of a sudden after changing from vista business to home premeium which im not positive is what is broken about it it wont reconize cd's or dvd's in that drive, windows says it has the most up to date driver installed for it, but im just looking for some direction. thanks

put in the vista cd and did a clean install

But did you format the drive in between is what I was wondering?

Since you installed the current version of Vista what if any burning programs have you installed? Do you have a scanner installed?

i think by default windows has a dvd maker that uses the burner to burn the photos or whatever you want to burn. and no to the full format, it moved the old windows into a folder named windows.old.

Well, I have no experience working with Vista and I think you have a software issue. Perhaps a new post in the Vista forum would be more productive.

Change the header to avoid have double posts removed.
