CPU/Ram: Athalon 64x2 1.6GHz/
Model/Manufacturer: Compaq P Laptop
Comment:
I have a presario v3000 with a DVD-rw. since putting on a fresh version of windows xp pro, when I go to My Computer it shows DVD Drive (E:) and DVD-RAM (D:). I cannot erase or burn DVD disks. Any suggestions?

WinXP by itself can't burn DVD media. If you were able to do that previously then you need to re-install whatever burner program you had.

Could the D: be a recovery partition?

The computer was originally equipped with Sonic and I don't want to pay for it. I will try Nero though.
