CD/DVD Drive reset query

Hi,

Having problems with my LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B CD/DVD drive. Basically, whenever I insert a disc (DVD or CD) it resets the PC.

I have no idea why this is happening, I have updated the firmware to the most up-to-date version but still no joy.

Anyone have any ideas?

Go into system prpoperties, advanced, startup and recovery and uncheck automatic reboot. Then see what happens.

I've tried what you suggested and still no luck.

Driving me crazy now.

If you haven't made any hardware changes, it
sounds like a defective drive to me.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

i had that sort of problem when i changed from Adaptec Easy CD Creator to Nero for burning CDs. It needed me to go in and rename a file.

Any idea which file it was that you changed?

I have recently installed Nero so that might be it.
