Hi, I hope someone can help me. The cd/dvd drive i currently have installed is a toshiba SD-R1002 and im having problems!
Once i have inserted audio cds or games or any cd and try to run it I am constantly prompted that the disc is not formatted and do i wish to format it now?
I dont want to do that and even if i did the discs wouldnt let me, i just want them to run!!
Please can someone offer a solution as i am no expert and would really appreciate it.

You can get all sorts of weird messages if the CD doesn't spin or it spins too slow. Your drive motor may be dying or dead. See my posts in this: http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/147149.html

You could try removing the the drive in the Device Manager and reboot. It should be reinstalled automatically.
