Specs: Windows XP
i rented a movie dvd yesterday and put it in the cd\dvd drive.i dont know why but its not reading the dvd. i also tried other games dvds and its readin them perfectely. theres also no problem in reading cds. it tried restoring the pc to an earlier date not still then it not working.could someone guess any solution??

1. Clean the rented disk.
2. Run a lenscleaner through your player.

Other possibility is your regional setting on the drive may not correspond to the DVD you have rented. This is unlikely unless you have been watching privately imported movies from outside your DVD region.

already run the lenscleaner 3times .but still then it not running. and no i havnt imported dvd outside of my dvd region. only two weeks back it was playing a movie dvd but now it cant even detect it. when i right click the drive icon and select copy it give an i\o device error. how come 2 weeks before there was no such problem. i didnt download anything except windows update.
