When I open the cd-rw on my computer, it makes a loud noise and the tray is loose. Is there a way to tighten it and reduce the noise, because this is not the case with the DVD drive I have below it - the tray is not as loose as the cd-rw. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, thank you.

the components are for the most part made of plastic. I seriously doubt you will find anything that is adjustable. but by all means open the thing up and look. Be prepared to throw it away and buy another drive though. There's a reason for those little stickers that say "No USer Servicible Parts Inside"

You also need to remember those cupholders are limited to 20oz. bottles. Heavier stuff like 1 liter bottles will break them.

They also just wear out over time with use. As Richard said, it can't hurt to look and sometimes a touch of petroleum jelly will do the trick.

Yes, I mean it's unusually loud when I open the cd tray. And you can clearly hear the "rattle" when opening it. (If that makes sense).

Would it be better just to buy a new one? I mean the cd drive is not old by any means, I bought it at the beginning of the year.

How do you apply the petroleum jelly? Apologize for the late response.
