I have my CD ROM as my secondary master and my CD-RW as my secondary slave on IDE2. My CD ROM does not work at all except when I unplug my master 40 pin adapter. My computer does not recognize my CD ROM as F: but it does recognize my CD-RW as E:. Is there something wrong in my BIOS settings or is it my adapter broken?

The prefered method of Master/Slave re Cd/Cdrw is that the Cdrw is set as the 2nd master and the Cdr as the 1st slave. Hope this helps.

Why not just set them both to cable select?
