CD Rom in device manager conflict

Well it's not really a conflict. In device manager i'm getting the yellow exclamation mark ! next to the cd drive. I'v tried 3 other known working drives with the same results. The ribbon cables are in properly and the cables are also proven good. The only thing I can think of here is that the Secondary Controller has gone. Am I on the right track here?

A problem like that is usually due to Windows not having the proper information about the mboard chipset. Load the drivers for the mboard chipset from the mboard CD, or from the mboard manufacturer's web site drivers for that model.
