Ok a week ago my CD Rom passed away. Being I could buy one right away I unplugged cable ect, then went into setup and took it out of there. Can't remember if I went into system properties in control panel and did anything there, sorry. Could of did something though. Justbought a new one. Put it in, got cables ect attached. In setup sec master (same as old cd rom) CD Rom Auto On (just like it was before) It loads standard Driver. Get into windows, control panel, D drive is there. In system Cd Rom says device is working properly. Now did I go into properties, setting and change something I just don't know. Now when put disk in drive (put 3 different ones) it will say D:is not accessible. What have I done or what do I need to do? Thank You all I could use some help.

Go to Ctrl Panel, System, and the "Device Manager" tab (if I remember correctly?) Locate the CD drive and delete all of it's listings. Now restart computer and Windows should re detect "New Hardware" and assign generic drivers to it.

Any joy?
