I was recently infected with the msblast virus. I ran the fix and removal tool but when i try to change the failure option for RPC back to restart, i get the error again, thus signifying it is still there. So i want to reformat. I set my AMI bios to boot from cd rom but when i put the xp cd in, and attepmpt to boot, it says boot record from cd room not found and just boots up normally. I am not sure why this is the case. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

use the custom xp install disk from bootdisk.com after downloading the xpboot.exe image, have a blank floppy in your a: drive and doubleclick it. then put that in the a: drive of the pc you're going to install xp on,and boot up. it will tell you on screen what drive letter it's going to use for your cd-rom, when i used it i think it was r: yours might be different, then at a: type r: press enter then at r: type cd\i386 and press enter then at r:\i386 type winnt.exe and press enter, xp should now install. (r: where r: is your cd-rom drive letter)
