Hi, My PC recently crashed whilst downloading an e-mail. At the time my CDRW drive went crazy. when I re-booted the PC the following message came up 'the following configuration options were automatically updated Disk 1 19470 (MB) Disk 4:CD:ROM'. This now also refers to DISK 3 CD:ROM when booting.
System restore can't be used. My CD Recovery disk won't work and the CDRW drive has a mind of its own.
Have scanned for viruses and spyware but nothing found. Also when I go into system properties the CDRW is not there however if I then delete the CDROM drive in device manager and re-boot the PC the drive repears but goes again when the PC crashes again.
Has anyone any ideas as i'm really stuck since the PC crashes whenever it likes.
