Cd drive is not working

when I try to open a cd in my system, the drive is disappearing from my computer. Even missing from device manager. If I restarts my system its coming and the same thing happening again if I try to run a cd.
please help me to solve this problem

Check in bios if the drive is recognize,if not shutdown pc remove ide cable and power cable and connect them correctly start the pc go into bios to see if its recognized.

And make sure ide device are enabled in bios
