I'm selling custom software over the internet that I used to build as a hobby but after putting it on the net for a couple of days for sale I've been selling at least 1 copy a week (I could sell more but I want to resolve the issue I'm about to explain first) I'm looking for a very basic/simple CD Copy protection program to put on my CDs.

I'm just a college student selling these custom CDs at like 19$ per, so I'm looking for a free protection utility.

It doesn't have to be advanced at all. I googled around but the programs I found require 100$ licenses and the like for sophisticated stuff I don't need.

Thanks.

Hmmm....Thin ice here.

This is a bit of a touchy subject.

Most cd copy protection programs have been defeated. The rest are forthcoming.

People make copies...fact of life. Some are backups. Others are to share.

Turbotax in 2002 made a cd that was copy protected.

Problem was it also disabled the cd writer leading to lawsuits. Those that wanted to make a copy did so (defeated)and the zdilla was also defeated by addiment (Spell)cd copiers. That year would also not install a second time... that was also defeated.

Not trying to change your mind but if you sell ten cds and they are copied 10 times and given away.....thats 110 programs of your design out there.

If people are given a single reg code per cd and you keep a data base you will know who is legal and who is not. Reg is through a web site.

I am sure some one who is permitted to code can help you out here.

So what does the cd contain that you are selling?
