You should be able to access the CD. What is on the CD? If the CD was created using a packet writer and was never finalized (closed properly) you may need to access it using the same packet writer.

That could prove to be problematic if the version is not compatible with WinXP.

If the CD is a music or video CD you may need to install some codecs. If the CD has data saved in a specific program you may need to have that program installed. For example, Excel files would need MS Excel or a compatible program.

Do you KNOW what type of files are on the disk?
