Havin meself a problem with the CD burner, not matter what it is I try to burn: Music, data, etc. I have a Lite-On burner first of all. So I open up Nero Burning software and I put in a 52x CD-R and say I burn some music on to it. When I try using the CD in my Stereo or computer,etc, it doesn't work. The CD doesn't actually work. This is happenening with every disk I burn. Also, I used to be able to choose the Burning speed from 2X to I think 14X. Now though, the only speed that it'll let me burn at is 2X (300 kb/s). So does anyone know how to fix this maybe? Happy Holidays.

I don't understand that link you gave me. My thing burns at 2X to 100%, but when I try to use the CD that I burned, it doesn't work. I'm trying to ask how to change the speed of burning from 2X (the only option that it'll give me right now) to 8X or whatever because I used to be able to burn at that speed with this burner. The drive isn't having problems reading discs or anything though.

I've also downloaded the latest drivers but still nothing. The only option it'll give me is to burn at 2X, even though I used to be able to do it at up to 12X.

I restarted the computer without a blank CD in the drive. Then I started Nero. What when I go into say burn or copy CD, it'll give me the option of choosing the write speed from 2x-12x. When I put in a blank cd into the drive though, it takes those options away and just lets me choose from 1x and 2x. Any way to solve this?
