My cd burner has developed some problems.. when i try to burn on a CD-R.. does not matter if it's an audio disk, or data.. it comes out corrupt and the drive can't read the data.. but if i burn it on a CD-RW.. it comes out perfect and reads fine... I lost 4 CD-R's in a row.. and i don't want to waste anymore..

My drive specs:
16x10x40x

Could the drive need cleaning?

Are you using a differant brand of CD-R's then B/4 ,some burners work beter with certain brands of CD-R's ? Also have you used a laser lens cleaner ,you may need to get one , you can pick them up at any electronics store. I have a Scotch Laser Lens Cleaner ,it has little brushes that clean the laser lens !
Good Luck Nick
