I've been having problems with my CD burner. The program that I'm using is Nero and everytime that I want to burn large files, it will have a recording error and it'll just stop. This is not the case though if I want to burn a couple of small files at a time (It works fine). Also, I tried switching to Roxio, and everytime I want to burn, it tells me that there are no recording devices. Thanks.

I think the reason Roxio doesn't see the burner is because Nero is running in the background. If you close Nero you should be able to get Roxio working. Does your burner have buffer underrun protection? If not, try burning at a slower speed. If so, I don't know what the problem might be.

No, I did not have Nero running in the background. I'm pretty sure it has buffer underrun protection. I'm not sure why Roxio tells me that no recording devices are available, and Nero for not letting me burn large files.

You should not have two burner programs installed on the system (especially CDcreator and Nero). They are known not to get along together.

I have Nero and also have problems trying to burn a bootable image of my C: drive. When I burn whole discs full of music it works fine. But the bootable disk burn stops and gives me an error message, something about two files being the same, or something. I only have one burner SW installed. I believe it has something to do with the Express version of Nero. Maybe, if we bought the full version? I don't know.

Both Nero 5 and 6 have lots of bugs. I'd suggest that you either choose a fairly stable release e.g. 5.5.10.42 or you download all of the current updates and try again.
Similarly with Roxio you might need to download an update that includes support for your drive. If it isn't supported you won't be able to burn with it.
If you still have problems and you have buffer underrun enabled then try creating an iso image of your files and burn that directly.
I have multiple burning programmes installed and I wouldn't expect you to have a problem unless you have them running at the same time.
