I have a Philips CDD 4801 burner. The cd drive tray wouldn't close. It would just stay open. I tried evrything to close it, but it wouldn't work. So, I took the drive out of the computer and tried to repair it myself. Everything was moving smoothly. It turned out that the white pin(like the playstation 2) was a little bit off. I fixed the tray, which slid perfectly. Now, I put everything back together, but my cd burner won't read or burn ANY cd. I think that I accidently moved the lens over a little bit. Is there a certain spot where the lens should be that is universal in all burners? I just really need to start burning again. Thanks

errr.rr......... -_-||| you are not suppose to open up your cd-r drive and fix it by yourself you should leave that problem to professionals. there is no tools you can move the lens back to original place just send it back to the factory and told them to replace it.

just to show that warning labels do not work. you won't be able to fix it yourself, sending it back for a fix nowadays is a joke. go on ebay and buy a brand new 40x cd-rw drive for $50
