Cd autorun on startup

Starting my new pc, get the "disk boot failure" msg, even tho i put my dvd player to be started b4 hd in bios and win98 cd in, what should i do?

I recommend to try starting from a floppy
disk first. Then check if all you drives
are present. I don't know if the DVD drive
automatically detects a CD drive on powerup.

If there is nothing to boot from on the DVD drive, it should look for the next one in line, the hard drive.Do you have the OS pre-installed on C drive? If not you may also use a boot disk in A drive and install it.The boot sequence does not really matter but one of the three options has to be met.Good luck.
