September 25, 2013 at 07:14:15
Specs: Windows Vista
I am trying to use Thanko Cassette Mate to change old cassette tapes To MP3. I have used the installation software/driver disc and the programme has successfully been installed on my laptop. Operating system is Windows vista. I keep getting an icon telling we to connect the cassette make using USB. When I connect it the icon is still there and I cannot use the cassette make. Does anone have abt idea what's wrong?

Your post is not very clear. Are you saying that when you connect the hardware to a USB port that the device is not seen?

Did you install the 2 AA batteries into the player?

Do you have a cassette inserted?

Did you install the software BEFORE connecting the device?

Hi Anneml,

you have not advised the make and model of your laptop which may help.

Reason I asked, is I wondered if it had USB2 ports. If not, this might be the cause of the problem as some devices will not run on less than USB2.

Good Luck -Keep us posted.

Did the cable to connect it to the computer come with the unit? Is it a regular USB cable or something proprietary?
