Comment:

I have a freecom cdrw set as a slave device in xp pro which has a memory card reader built into it. The cd drive works perfectly (reading and writing), however the card reader won't recognize anything i plug into it. I know the memory card is ok as i have tried it on another pc with a built in card reader and it found it straight away. The only difference between the two pc's is that mine is xp pro and the other had SP2 installed. Do i need this upgrade or to enable anything in the bios? The device manager says the cd drive is working correctly, but no extra drives show up in my computer. Any help appreciated.

What does device mgr say about the card reader?

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

Soft32.com above- has a full sp2 download.

Microsoft support above- has a resolution if the upgrade doesn't help.

There's your problem.

Did it come with drivers?
