Specs: Windows XP
Just brought a Vantec UGT-MP100 (http://www.tastech.co.nz/product_info.php?products_id=301068). The LCD panel and temperature readers work but not the card reader. The USB port also works but when i put a card in it does nothing at all. There are no drivers because it says you don't need them for win xp.

Are the cards partitioned & formatted? Look for them in Disk Management.

When you connected the card reader/ USB ports how many wires or multi-wire connectors were in the pigtail you connected to the USB header on the motherboard?

That is not very helpful. The header you connected to supports TWO ports. I am guessing the the card reader is one and the USB port/s is the other. You may not have connected all the wires correctly. With your answer I haven't a clue.

Still could be wrong. There are two different wiring patterns. Probably not the reason but possible.

Are you sure the reader is supposed to read the type of card you are using?
