Hi,
I have a card reader embedded in my laptop. It was working until someone insert a Ricoch xd picture card an removed it without using the safe removable device. Since then, the system does not recognize my SD card 512 at all. I crashed the computer hoping it would fix the problem. No success. When I turn on the computer I notice that the D drive indicate the Ricoch xd card even though there is no card in the slot.

You can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers. However if it turns out to be trashed just get a USB card reader. They're cheap and you can find them everywhere.
