CPU/Ram: 2500 XP+ / 512MB PC2100

Comment: I recently bought an Asus A7N8X-E mobo, after having had a A7N8X-X for a while. But I am unable to install the Athlon 2500XP cpu in it - i can't get the lever to come down. I've been trying for hours to no avail. can anyone help ?

are you sure you have got the cpu in right way round and right down flush against the socket?

Reply: (edit)The lever goes fully up and down without the cpu in the socket. the cpu inserts fine and lays flat, but i've noticed that if i push the top left corner the cpu wobbles slightly

I ripped the 1700 out of this machine to see if any cpu could go in there or not. it was stiff but went in. then i tried the 2500 and it was stiff but went in too. that doesn't sound too good does it...... :S
