cant instal win xp on partition

i partitioned hard drive to instal win xp on partition and when xp finishes i get the blue screen to protect computer? any ideas on how to correct this problem?

instaled xp after vista.vista was instaled at the factory. i tried to instal over vist and then re instal vista but no luck?
