Cant get separate sound in rear 5.1

Hi!

I've won a Home Theatre system with 5.1 Dolby Surround. I was just wondering how I get separate sound in the back speakers?

I config my speakers, I tell the comp that I have 6 of 'em. Left,center,right,sub,rear left, rear right. The comp separates left center right, but when it comes to the rear speakers the sound comes out of all speakers.
(It asks if I have my rear speaker in the line in, but I don't cos I only have one flex/cord in to the computer.)
