my PC has black screen with DHCP can you help?
XP doesn't recognize SATA unless the SATA drivers are installed. You need to explain what you did.
I exchanged a 250 watt power pack for a 500 WATT.I then put a 160 gb HDD SATA in where there was No HDD and took away the IDE ribbon and connected the P/Pack to the m/board which had a Sata cable attached and the Power Pack and the HDD to the CD.Is the problem in the BIOS or is it down to incompatability?
If you disconnected the IDE hard drive that has Windows on it, how do you expect the computer to boot? If you are running SP3 on WinXP you should be able to partition and format the 160GB SATA hard drive from within WinXP.
A 160GB SATA is probably SATA I speed so there would be no advantage to running Windows on it. Use the SATA for programs and data to expand your storage.
